Undulge

Good intentions; negative impact. Repave the road to hell with offsetting donations.

About Undulge

Life is so complex that sometimes, it's impossible to make moral decisions. That might be due to lack of information, time constraints, monetary considerations, or the sheer magnitude of desire. Sometimes there are negative and unintended externalities associated with our actions. You can watch a video clip from modern-day classic "The Good Place" that elegantly explains this concept right here.

We're not insisting that anyone change their behavior. It's tough out here. Our goal is to help people acknowledge those decision points, and provide a trustworthy way for them to offset the negative impact those decisions have. To that end we have created Undulge, a giving platform allowing people to make small charitable donations that specifically offset a negative behavior. You can see some examples of what we consider negative behavior below, in the section we cleverly named "Examples".

So who gets to decide what constitutes a "negative behavior"? We do! This whole charity is really just an outlet for a massive God complex. We are the ultimate arbiters of morality! We alone draw the line between good and evil! And most of all, we will mold a world in which we can buy a peppermint shake from Chick-fil-A without the crippling guilt of directly contributing to the subjugation of the LGBTQ+ community!

TL;DR:

You aren't a bad person, but society has developed in such a way that you can't help but do bad things. Help us help you help the people you accidentally hurt. Undulge is a nonprofit operated by a 501(c)(3).

If you're a human being with a soul, you love Harry Potter...and hate JK Rowling. Since writing some of the most formative fantasy novels of all time, JK has dedicated her life to dehumanizing trans people. That makes it really hard to look forward to the new Harry Potter series dropping on HBO in 2027. Or re-read the books. Or go to the theme park. All of which you're still going to do, you're just going to feel guilty about it. When you indulge in Harry Potter, Undulge with a donation to a vetted charity supporting Trans youths. Suck it, JK, you evil, hateful genius.

Amazon can deliver anything you want to your face the same day you order it. I want to support my local businesses just as much as anyone, but I'm barely staying afloat while working my job, raising my child, and running the world's most important and most successful charity. In the immortal words of Sweet Brown, "aint nobody got time for that". Never mind the working conditions in a Bezos controlled warehouse. Now, when you order from Amazon, you can turn that niggling guilt into a small donation supporting small businesses and workers rights.

So crispy, so delicious, so intolerant. Is good chicken worth more than your gay cousin's personal safety and well-being? Not when they're around. But sometimes you've just got to eat. Isn't that right, you MONSTER? This is the one that got us thinking about how easy it is to accidentally make choices that go against our values and led to the founding of the Undulge app.

This could not be more exclusive. You think we're just gonna let ANYONE donate to charity using our platform? Absolutely not. That would destroy the elitism of the whole thing. You are so very special.
